My power went out the other night so I had to turn my unit back on in the morning. Once powered on my DNS 323 hammers the Ethernet with some type of traffic on the network and floods my poor Linksys switch to the point that it can't pass Internet traffic very well. I turned off DNS FTP server but that doesn't help. What could be causing this traffic?

Here is a wireshark packet capture with lots of SMB protocol traffic from the DNS

Your PC 'Jodi-PC' at 192.168.0.102 is creating the traffic by listing the directories, the dns323 only responds. Get rid of Vista

Make sure LLTD is disabled on the NAS.

LLTD is off, FTP is off, everything is off. The PC in question that hell0 mentioned is off, and it still is happening. The LAN light on the DNS is thrashing with nothing on the network except the DNS.

Does it happen when you disconnect your broadband?

traffic from the dns323 seems to lessen when my broadband is disconnected.
